- Germantown Mutual Insurance Company has been an important business in Wisconsin for more than 150 years. On April 1, 1854, the Germantown Farmers Mutual Insurance Company was established as one of the first mutual insurance companies in Wisconsin. The original officers and agents were prominent local leaders and dedicated to the development of the Germantown area. In the last few years the company has added several new lines of business, such as automobile, business owners and farm insurance. Through multiple mergers, it has acquired five other insurance companies that include City of Waukesha Mutual, Cedarburg Mutual, Lakeland Mutual, Menomonee Mutual and Retail Lumbermens Mutual. As a result of the acquisitions, Germantown has grown from a $5 million company in 1993 to nearly $37 million in written premium in 2005. Germantown Mutual Insurance Company is located in Germantown, Wis.

Excellent company. They cut my auto insurance price in half and saved me a little bit of money on my home insurance as well. I hit a deer a few weeks ago and they handled my claim seemlessly.
This company is absolutely terrible when a claim is made - They drag their feet, hire paid consultants to provide them with predetermined opinions, fail to return phone calls, deny legitimate claims clearly covered in the policy. Stay away from this company and any agent peddling the products of GMIC Germantown Mutual Insurance.

Provided by SuperpagesI would give this business zero stars if possible. They are horrible to work with and extremely incompetent. They not only had my policy entered incorrectly but took approximately 45 days to only partially pay my loss claim. My car was obviously totalled but it took them about two weeks to discern that and it has been their excuse ever since. DO NOT use them for insurance. It would be a mistake.
