Mel's Kennels

Just a quick overview of Mel's boarding kennel. The dogs are housed in small, substandard wire kennels placed on concrete, under a tin, free standing carport. The play areas are dirt surrounded by chicken wire. The play pools / water buckets are filthy, with black, dirty water. They don't require the kennel cough vaccine, even though the dogs interact and drink out of the same contaminated water sources. Fleas and ticks abound. Mel finds it amusing when dogs lie down in the ice laden pools in the middle of winter. She thinks it's funny when one of her boarders jumps the fence and gets out. If anyone questions her judgment, she will get highly indignant and defend her poor judgment to the end. Go to her facebook page and her website. Pictures don't lie.

Mel loves all of the animals she watches. She actually spends quality time with the animals, and takes them out of their kennels for play time with others. She posts pictures, and videos to show that all of the animals are well taken care of. My dog even got a bath before she came home! She truly loves her job and it reflects her work! I would HIGHLY recommend her to everyone! My dog came home after one day of boarding, and she slept for over 14 hours straight! She had a GREAT time!

We had to finally leave our two Boxers with a kennel's in the 3+ years that we have owned them. Both my wife and I are very particular in who we leave our pets with as they are a part of the family. Mel's Kennels came recommended from a co-worker, and it was absolutely worth it!!! From the moment we met to the time I picked up my dogs when our trip was over, Mel provided the absolute best care and service. She also went above and beyond what we expected in posting pictures to Facebook of our dogs so we could check in on them while we were out of town. Daisy and Max will be returning to Mel's when we have to take off out of town and can't bring them. I HIGHLY recommend Mel's and we will be using her kennels again!!!

I chose Mel's Kennel to take care of my lab puppy Mika because of how caring she was towards other people's dogs, taking pictures and posting updates on Facebook. Mika got to play with other dogs and had a comfortable and warm place to sleep in. Mel's set up is definitely great for dogs and she puts a lot of time and love into it.

My wife thinks of our dog as a child and so leaving for a week vacation is a hard thing to get her to do. Mel's Kennels has wiped all her fears away.

Mel updated Facebook the second day we were away with pictures of Shockey. He is skiddish around other dogs and so every day she sent a quick message and an occasional pic to let us know how he was adjusting. By the time we came home, I am not sure he wanted to leave.

I would never trust another kennel with the well being of my pet. Mel was amazing and my dog loved her. She has a great setup to. Lots of happy looking dogs.
