She attended the University of Kansas where she received a Bachelor of Arts in Biology and earned her Doctorate of Dental Surgery at the University of Missouri-Kansas City School of Dentistry. She developed a special interest in cosmetic dentistry and received a scholarship award for her outstanding work in restorative dentistry.
