Medical Weight Loss
Follow instructions provided by your doctor. Avoid any over-the-counter herbs (especially those used for weight loss) 10-14 days prior to an anesthetic. Do not eat or drink anything after midnight and the morning before the procedure. Do not even drink coffee, tea, or water.
Immunizations
We encourage you to schedule an annual well-woman examination. This preventative visit includes age appropriate health and cancer screening. Current guidelines recommend Pap smears starting at age 21. Lab work, sexually transmitted disease (STD) screening, and vaccinations are provided as needed. For reproductive age women, care includes discussion of contraceptive needs and preconception counseling. Hormone therapy is available in the menopause transition.

Endometriosis
Endoscopic surgery is frequently used to diagnose and manage conditions of the reproductive organs, including endometriosis, ovarian cysts, fibroids, adhesions, and uterine diseases. It can also be used to check for ectopic pregnancy, causes of pelvic pain, and tumors. This technique is used to remove polyps and fibroids, perform selective biopsies and address scarring in the endometrial cavity. Endoscopy
In one kind of endoscopy, called laparoscopy, the abdomen is insufflated with carbon dioxide gas to create a working and viewing space, essentially blown up like a balloon (insufflated), elevating the abdominal wall above the internal organs like a dome. Although ultrasound has come a long way, even the best equipment in the best hands can not identify every abnormality or guarantee a "perfect baby." It should also be remembered that although most expectant parents view an ultrasound as a fun and exciting experience, it is in fact a diagnostic tool like MRI or a blood test and therefore a medical need is generally necessary for its use.
