I would pick zero stars if that was an option

For those that previously went to Alterations Unlimited in Brighton, please know they are under new ownership. Read google reviews (not just Facebook reviews) and be prepared for substantially higher prices that are not in line with the service provided.

Examples: needed two inches taken in on spaghetti straps of a bridesmaid dress- average rate $15. Their rate $55. Let out, take in on another dress- average rate $45-65. Their rate $155. And they ‘accidentally’ added a $25 tip on before service was even completed.

Therefore, I requested to pick up the dresses the day after the fitting as my daughter had no idea the cost of alterations. We paid for time spent on the fitting itself and were reluctantly provided a refund for the remainder and asked to never come back. From the fitting to the refund, the owner was extremely rude.

I think people should be informed of what to expect when a highly regarded business changes hands and the dramatic difference in service and price.

Was referred by Beckers Bridal in Fowler. I echo the poor reviews and so wished I read the numerous reviews so similar to our poor experience. Before they got a chance to ruin my daughter’s gown I took in 2 desinger gowns for minor alterations. They removed the St John designer label and price tags and on the first gown and threw them away. Cut holes in the gown all along the zipper and snagged the gown in front and created a large hole in the heavy sequin knit. The second gown heavily sequined, was to be shortened slightly. The bottom was extremely uneven left raw and unsewn, with all the rows of sequins loose and falling off at the bottom. What in the world are they doing? Had to take to another seamstress to fix both gowns. Both gowns devalued by the sloppy, subpar work. The owner here was extremely rude with a I couldn’t care less attitude. Her response to me was that she has been doing “this” for years. I can’t get over how rude the owner was. I now know this is a regular occurrence at this business. Unbelievable. Ruined 2 beautiful gowns. Was almost going to alter my daughter’s wedding gown based on Becker’s recommendation which has lessened my opinion of them as well. I paid over $350.00 and they ruined 2 gowns. Couldn’t get there fast enough to pick up my daughter’s wedding gown. Silver lining is that we found an exacting professional seamstress that worked her magic on all of our dresses somewhere else. An awful experience here. Don’t take the chance and ruin your important event.

This place is wonderful! They were able to alter my dress in about a week since I was pregnant. I was a little concerned about the quick turnaround time but, they reassured me that it was not going to be a problem. It turned out perfectly and I couldn’t be happier with it! Compared to other shops in the area, the pricing cannot be beat either. I would highly recommend this shop and have already heard from friends that they had great experiences as well with alterations on their wedding gowns!

DO NOT USE THIS BUISNESS - especially for something as important as a wedding dress! I was recommended to this business after not being able to schedule alterations with the seamstress at my dress shop. My maid of honor had also had a bad experience with this shop, but due to time constraints, I was unable to shop around. I should've never taken it there, as it looked a million times better on the day that it came in, compared to how it looks in my wedding photos. First off, it took me SIX appointments to finally get my dress to a level at which it was somewhat okay again. ONE week before my wedding, I was literally shopping for a new dress because mine was unwearable due to poor alterations and MAJOR bunching in my mid section. The back of my dress, near my butt, had 3 major rolls on each side of the zipper, taking away any smoothness around my butt. The buttons were put back on unevenly (literally crooked). And lastly...
