We have recently adopted two cats who had been initially treated by the great doctors at Cedar Grove Veterinary Services. We have always taken our cats to another clinic, but we have found the care and staff to be most wonderful at Cedar Grove! Dr. Demianiuk is very thorough, caring, and passionate about his work. Vaccination
For the safety of all animals in our care, we require that your pets vaccinations be up to date. Even though we make every effort to make our patients feel comfortable during visits, they may be a little uneasy about new people, new surroundings and other pets. We recommend that animals be placed on a leash or in pet carriers before entering the waiting room.
Nutritional Counseling
Comprehensive Examination
The first component for a safe anesthesia and surgical event is the physical exam. We do a physical exam on your pet before administering anesthetics, to ensure that they are healthy enough for anesthesia. We may also adjust the amount and type of anesthetic used depending on the health of your pet. The handout on anesthesia explains this in greater detail.

Pain Management
Anything that causes pain in people can be expected to cause pain in animals. Pets may not show the same symptoms of pain as people do; they usually don't whine or cry, but you can be sure they feel it. The type and amount of pain medications needed for your pet will depend on the surgery performed. Major procedures require more pain relief than procedures involving minor lacerations.

Wound and Fracture Care
Becky Gartman has been a technician assistant at Cedar Grove Veterinary Services since 2005. She enjoys working with all type of animals. Becky enjoys behavior training, dental hygiene cleanings and wound care. She lives on a dairy farm with her husband and children. When she is not working, Becky is a dedicated 4-H volunteer at both the club level as general leader for her club and at the county level as a project leader. Becky also enjoys gardening and taking care of her many animals including her dogs Pancho, Sunny and Virgil, cats, horses, meat goats, rabbits and poultry.

Veterinary Surgery
Theresa graduated from the University of Wisconsin-River Falls with a Bachelor Degree in Animal Science with an emphasis in Veterinary Technology and Madison Area Technical College with an Associate Degree in Veterinary Technology in 2009. She is also certified in basic and advanced life saving techniques. She started working at Cedar Grove Veterinary Clinic shortly after graduation. Theresa enjoys surgery and anesthesia. Outside of the clinic she spends time reading, crocheting, taking photos, as well as riding her four-wheeler and snowmobile. She has two cats named Jordy and Rhe.

Laboratory Services
We offer varying levels of pre-anesthetic blood testing before anesthesia and surgery, which we will go over with you during the pre-surgery consult. Our doctors prefer more comprehensive screenings, because it gives them the most information to ensure the safety of your pet. For geriatric or ill pets, the more thorough blood tests as well as electrocardiograms and/or x-rays may be required before anesthesia and surgery.

Microchipping
Cedar Grove Veterinary Services offers the HomeAgain microchip for pet identification using their TempScan Microchips. This tiny microchip can be placed under the skin of your pet at any visit to our clinic. Your pet is then enrolled in the HomeAgain lost pet recovery program. A simple scan of your pet gives us the individual identification number so your pet can be returned home. As a bonus the TempScan Microchips will tell us your pets current body temperature when the microchip is scanned. This means that we will no longer have to do rectal temperatures on your pet. Senior Pet Care
Cedar Grove Veterinary Services offers senior pet health exams and nutritional guidelines. Senior wellness exams, routine blood testing, urinalysis, endocrine hormone testing, electrocardiograph (ECG), and x-rays are testing options that can help us identify health risks before they become symptomatic problems. Proper nutrition and exercise play an important role in your pet's health. Your team at the Veterinary Clinic can counsel you on senior fitness, nutritional needs of the senior pet, care of the arthritic pet and common medical conditions in older pets.
Dog Training
Amy joined the clinic team in May of 2012. Amy has been working in the veterinary field since 1997, first as a veterinary assistant and now as a receptionist. Her interests include animal behavior, dog training, and canine sports medicine. When she is not working she enjoys spending time with her husband and competing in dog sports with her Australian Shepherd, Ember.

Large Animal Vet
Dr. Dana Pionek joined the doctor staff in 2004 as a large-animal veterinarian to continue the quality medicine that the clinic has provided since 1945.
