Akridge Kathleen M in Hampton is not an NP I would recommend even to my worst enemy. She does not explain all the risks involved with procedures, over-exaggerates the need for frightening procedures for common problems that clear up on their own, does not listen to patients concerns, and is a little too happy to perform biopsies rather than adapting a wait and see policy for minor problems, which has been proven to cause more harm to women than help. She does not discuss with patients the risks of procedures and even dismisses their concerns about having procedures. I've known several patients and she insights panic in her patients when test results come back abnormal but as it turns out, the test has always been wrong. I do not trust her and would caution anyone who goes to see her. Its very easy to get in to see her as it appears she is not usually booked which speaks volumes about her ability to maintain patients. She even joked with me that multiple patients came to her saying they had gotten pregnant while on the pill but she dismissed them saying this was impossible until a study came out disproving this. This scares me because if so many patients were coming to her confiding in her, why did she not listen to them? This NP is better at delivering scare tactics to try and keep patients coming to her for scary procedures that are unnecessary and potentially harmful. Please stay away.
