I had Suddenlink internet, who was supposed to be providing 20 Megabits per second, but I was only averaging like 8M during the hours I use it the most (you share your bandwidth with everyone else that has Suddenlink service, so you're rarely getting advertised speed). Between that and the frequent disconnects, I'd had enough.



I went down to the CenturyLink store in Kingwood to see what they had to offer, and I'm glad I did! Not only were the folks at the store amazingly friendly and knowledgeable, the 25M internet service is freaking fantastic! It doesn't disconnect, it's pretty much a constant 22-25 Megabits per second AND a tad cheaper than Suddenlink.



I'm thinking about switching to DirecTV with CenturyLink as well. One can only watch so much Netflix! They've got some awesome bundle offers for new customers at the store.

I recently had to have my phone line reburied. Unfortunately, I was not able to be home at the time. Upon my return home I discovered that the phone line had been newly reburied right through the center of my flower bed!! The entire bed had been blatantly trampled and completely destroyed. Flowers had been dug up and thrown feet away, even wisteria that had been growing for years had been ripped off the wire arbor. The phone line had always been buried a couple of yards away from where I had planted my flowers. I am shocked at the utter disrespect for my property. There is no excuse for it and no reason why they couldn't have bypassed the garden. However, it is evident for the reason of this destruction, going through the flower bed was the SHORTEST and QUICKEST way to lay the new line. So, the advice that I give is to be home whenever possible if you're having anyone work in your yard, as to avoid anything like this happening to you.

The phone service is good. Even through Ike and Rita, we had a phone line up and running all the time. Lines in Kingwood are buried, and I'm sure that helps, but the service never stopped. If I wrote this to rate their phone service, it would have been 5 stars. Their internet service is DSL, and it is incredibly slow most days. This morning 14 Feb 09, my download speed is the same as a 56K modem, according to their software. Modem has to be reset at least once every hour. Customer service tries, give them that, but they can't improve bad quality of internet service/speed. Their DSL is NEVER good, only barely adequate on a good day. I wish their internet service was as good as their phone service.
