I had to have a surgery following a fall that I had where I hurt my knee. This surgery resulted in a post-surgery knee infection. While I notified Dr. DeLapp's office immediately when I felt something was wrong following the surgery. I was told to just wait until my follow-up appt to come in. I was obviously experiencing big-time infection symptoms, but my infection was bungled every step of the way. I honestly don't have the proper amount of space to describe all of the ways that they screwed up my care. They limit your space so that you can't get into all of the sordid details of just how they screwed up your care. In short, Dr. DeLapp didn't get me into the hospital to begin treatment until 2 weeks after I let them know that I had symptoms consistent with a post-surgery infection. Dr. DeLapp also blamed me for the infection. In order to prevent my "complaint" from becoming a lawsuit, Dr. DeLapp and his lawyer told at least 50 lies in their Position Paper. Again, I have no space detail all of them. Also, he discharged me from HIS hospital (Deercreek) when I hadn't gotten any better at all (my infection) after I'd stayed there for a week. My infection was 0% better, but I was still discharged. I was in disbelief because their treatments, his antibiotics and his wash-out surgeries did zero to improve my condition. I was in as much if not more pain on day 7 as I was on day 1 when I was admitted. I ended up having to go to Tulane (thank God) about 12 days following my discharge from Dr. DeLapp's hospital. They got me better in a few days, where I could feel pain relief. They had multiple Infectious Disease doctors that I saw. They immediately switched me to different oral and IV meds for the infection. The length of time that I had this infection before getting to Tulane sealed my fate. I'd developed osteomyelitis in my knee. I was forced to have a knee replacement in order to have this part of my infected knee removed. He has damaged me for the rest of my life.
