        Overall

        I called 3 fireplace companies about my leak - this is the only company who actually came out and fixed the gas leak. Royal Chimney charged me $279 for cleaning, but refused to start up the fireplace or check the gas leak. They didn't even have a gas leak tester.



        American Heritage was honest and upfront about their costs - $149 to come out and the charge of the switch, which was $60. The technician came out, replaced the gas valve, checked for gas leaks after turning on the gas line switch and then lit a fire. He turned it off and showed me how to operate the switch too.



        Great company, great service, reasonable cost. I'll hire them anytime for more work.

        Good product, good service staff, adequate sales support, unacceptable middle management attitude.

        The service tech and installation staff is great. The sales staff will tell you what you want to hear. Woe to you if you need assistance from the store manager. He is unsympathetic, abrupt and extremely difficult to work with. The owner of the company actually returned my call regarding my complaint, but the issue was resolved by the service tech and he lost interest. There is no effort to make you feel appreciated as a customer. I was interested in a second product, but will take my business elsewhere.
