Overall
I recently adopted a dog from ...

I recently adopted a dog from the Pawgressive Pet adoption sponsored by the OK Humane Society. No one could tell me anything about the dog that I adopted. The dog is very sweet and very easy to love and both I and my boyfriend fell in love with him instantly. HOWEVER, the dog we adopted has SEVERE SEVERE SEVERE separation anxiety. The first time we left him alone in the brand new kennel, he broke the plastic bottom and then broke all of the wiring from the cage and escaped. He nervously urinates and defacates all over the house. He also urinates and defecates in the house just because he feels like it even after he has been outside for at least an hour supervised. This is something I thought that we could work with. We immediately started him on anti anxiety medicine from the veterinarian He still urinates and defecates in the house when we leave him. However this past Monday, the dog has now broken through the window, chewed the window sill, and busted through the patio door because his anxiety. He has now been started on two different additional anxiety medicine. I am a veterinary technician and do not mind trying to work with a problem dog. I called the Humane Society and talked to Suzanne (the director of adoptions I'm assuming) and explained the situation to her. All I asked for is a refund on the $25 dollars that I spent adopting this dog, seeing is how he has destroyed my house and she absolutely would not work with me. I don't think that it is fair that I adopted a dog (that was already neutered I might add) from these people without the knowledge that the dog would be doing over $1000 worth of damage within 10 days. I find this place as a poor excuse of an adoption agency for how they have handled the situation and do not recommend anyone adopt their animals from there.
