Martinez Landscaping

Let me start with the positive: the maintenance crew we have had is professional and courteous. It has been a true pleasure having them do the weekly work for us. They are embarrassed by their boss' , Raul Martinez, behavior and attitude and have lamented it to us several times.

Raul Martinez used to work with the fantastic general contractor who built our custom house (as a sidenote, he has now found a different subcontractor for his landscaping needs). Our house was completed in the spring of 2017, and Martinez Landscaping took care of the installation of the entire landscaping part of the project. The cost to us was a little over 28k. We were happy with the results. The contract very clearly states that any plants that did not make it through the first winter would be replaced the following spring. October of 2018 is now coming to an end and we are still waiting. A part of the plants were replaced this fall (not spring or even summer) after dozens of calls, emails, text messages, voicemails and pleads to Mr Martinez through the maintenance crew. However, many of them were just replaced with random plants, not respecting the original planting scheme. At no point of this painful process has Raul Martinez shown any signs of lamenting the delays nor has he offered any explanations for treating us in this manner. He is incredibly arrogant. However, at one point he proactively offered to do a new project for us: build new retaining walls that in his expert opinion were necessary at the cost of 15k. I would have to laugh if this wasn't all to infuriating. This is the lowest level of "customer care" we have yet to have experienced during our years living in several countries as well as US states.

Reno is growing fast and demand is high at the moment. However, it is extremely unfortunate and short sighted to treat existing customers this way.
