Today Sunday June 4,2023 we had to put down our wonderful BernDoodle Chief.
Chief had 8+ strokes overnight and this Kind and Caring Doctor
agreed to help Chief. We drove to his wonderful place and he so kindly helped Chief
while laying in the back of our van and on his favorite bed…Can’t say enough about how kind he was to all of us today!

My experience at The Bridgewater Vet was a 'Perfect 10'. Extraordinary people work there to take astronomical care of our friends & companions. William K. Wellman, DVM listened to me, used his expertise to diagnose & care for my ill cat, my best friend, Pumpkin. She loves her ‘kitty doctor’, Dr Wellman. I recommend you go to him, he’s the ONLY doctor you’ll need.

I have a Labrador who is about 1.5 years and goes all out running. She’s sprained her leg twice. Dr Wellman had laser therapy and treated her 3-4 days in a row (pretty advanced and Dexter Animal Rehab was backed up months to do this). He suggested a diet as she’s carrying too much weight for her frame. We’ve been back for shots and heart worm pills. Costs very reasonable. Love him!

Perri had been sick for months. You did nothing but give us steroids and some "vitamins" that none of our cats would go near. Instead of suggesting a different vet, you continued on, even suggesting if the vitamins didn't work, "you could just cut her open to see if it's a tumor". She was 11 years old, she had already lost 6 pounds and was barely eating and you expected her to survive that. That was great veterinary care. Then, after one solid week of her not eating, AT ALL, we decided that we didn't want her to suffer at all. Our suffering never exceeded hers, our hearts broke, all we did was worry, but we were not suffering.

As for you trying to stuff our recently deceased pet into a garbage bag, there was no confusion. My face ws dripping in tears as you OPENED THE BAG. You were not trying to merely "cover her" you were trying to put my wife and I's pet into a garbage bag. How was me shoving my way between you and my cat confusing? How was me stopping you from actually putting her in there confusing? Was my wife confusing as she stood there frozen in horror as you flicked open a plastic bag for us to transport our dead cat in? Sir, I respect your profession, and I'm sure you were great, about 20 years ago, but you are far past your prime. You, apparently, have forgotten what compassion is, or at least confused it with cruelty. No one deserves what you put us through.

There are always those who deem themselves 'know-it-alls' and think they're smarter than the professional, whether that be a vet, medical doctor, or teacher etc. If I took an animal (la dog) to a veterinary clinic, and felt the vet was THAT incompetent, I would have pulled my animal well before the first week was up and took her elsewhere and certainly wouldn't have stayed with that vet for another second, let alone 3 more weeks. If any vet didn't offer lab results, treatment for, or discussion about one of my animals, why would I bring a second animal (a cat) to him? With that said, I have been in animal rescue since 1970. I have dealt with all kinds of vets and I assure you, Dr. Wellman is one of the finest. He has dedicated his life to saving and helping animals. I have heard testimony that he has worked what has been described as 'miraculous' in saving some of his patients thought to be beyond hope by other vets.

practical, no nonsense care

We adopted a cat from the humane society in July. We were warned he had "allergies". He looked healthy but we were at the vet every 3 weeks for the first 3 months we owned him spending more than i could afford for shots and shenanigans that didn't help the cat feel better. Dr. Wellman was suggested to us and in 2 visits we have gotten better care than in all trips combined to previous vet. He even has called to follow up on our " miserable cat". I feel bad for the user who had such a terrible rant against him but that has been FAR from our experience at this office. He is giving life back to our sick cat. I trust him amd feel tyankful for the cat, and my checkbook, that we were able to find him!

He is too old & arrogant to be practicing. He ordered labs for my dog who was not feeling well & did not bother to read them. This went on for several weeks. He ordered labs for my cat which he never offered any treatment or discussion. My dog died because of his negligence. He responded to my kind email and stated that he was glad she was being taken care of some place else because "he couldn't deal with me or my animals" and signed off "good luck." He knew my dog was the ICU and it was his negligence that allowed my dog to bleed to death over a 3-week period. He charged me 100s of dollars for this horrific veterinary 'care'. The ICU cost over $5000. But losing the life of my beloved dog was the worst tragedy & was totally avoidable. I called him & he stated that I could have seen the labs as well as him and, therefore, it was my fault. He thought emailing them to me was adequate care. He, then, hung up on me. I asked for compensation through his wife and there was nothing done by him.

Bridgewater vet is a friendly,...

Bridgewater vet is a friendly, small town veternarian who took great care of my male cat, Ptree. He went to another vet and they diagnosed him wrong and Dr. Wellman had him come in and figured out just what was wrong with him. This is a great vet and I would recommend him to anyone! Please take your business to Dr. Wellman, it will be well worth your time and money!
