Leanore Simon, MD, is a board-certified neurologist at AdventHealth in Kansas City, where she works as a neurohospitalist providing neurological care for inpatients at AdventHealth Shawnee Mission in Merriam, Kansas. With a background in both neurology and ophthalmology, Dr. Simon has special interests in neuromuscular diseases, multiple sclerosis and electromyography. She has worked as a physician in both India and the United States, having practiced ophthalmology in India before moving to the U.S. in 1994 to advance her educational and professional interests. She earned a master of arts in blind rehabilitation teaching at Western Michigan University while working with patients with visual impairments. In 2000, she established two vision rehabilitation clinics in Minneapolis to provide rehab training to patients with low vision and legal blindness. She then pivoted her specialty to focus on neurology, completing an externship and residency in the field, followed by a fellowship in clinical neurophysiology (EMG) and neuromuscular disease. Dr. Simon joined AdventHealth in June 2020 after having worked as a consultant neurologist at various hospitals and clinics in Minnesota. She is a member of the American Academy of Neurology. In her free time, she enjoys theater and the arts, table tennis, canoeing and music. Note: Dr. Simon provides care only for inpatients at AdventHealth Shawnee Mission in Merriam, Kansasa, and does not accept outpatient appointments.
