I wouldn't even give this place a star. The staff is way unprofessional. The staff doesnt care for the well being of their patients. When a patient was asking other patients for their medication, when brought to a staff members attention the employee told the patients to crush up a smartie for the person asking for meds to snort. While being in there i was given medication that made me aggressive, when I mentioned it they didn't care. They would of rather bitched back and forth with me. Also up the dosage on my lithium, then had a horrible reaction to it. Lithium isn't good in large amounts. Lastly they wI'll dope you up on drowsy medication and expect you to participate in grouts and stay in the lobby all day until bed time, cause they lock the rooms during the day. The only good thing about this place is they allow smoke breaks at the staffs convenience. This place opened my eyes to never allow myself to get to the point of going back to a place like this. this place is hell!

During the time there I was sexually assaulted by a staff member and he followed me around and wouldn't let me talk to any other staff members while he was there. One girl was bullying me while I was in there for suicide attempt and as she was bullying me a staff member was right next to her laughing under her breath. They took me off my medication for seizures and although I didn't have one there I did have a panic attack when I realized they didn't give me my medication. At the time I was only 14 and now I'm 18. I came out worse then going in if you plan on putting your child in this for depression or whatever expect them to come home doped up, and even more depressed.

My review is not as harsh as the others, but I did not experience it as a patient, it was my teenager. I look at the place strictly as a place for them to be protected from harming themselves and hopefully others. If that is not your priority, this is not the place you are looking for. Patients are stripped of any belongings that can be used to hurt themselves in any way. This includes pillows and drawstrings. It served its purpose for us. It was a little startling that their were only two visiting timess per week and they were short. For us that was very merciful as our family needed time to recouperate from the events that preceeded her stay. We simply could not imagine bringing her straight home with us as we would have to stand vigil over her 24/7 and try to handle constant emotional abuse from her. She was safe and she learned some coping skills. It also helped her appreciate the freedoms of home for at least 12 hours. This is a crisis center. If your loved one is not in crisis, I wouldn't recommend it.

I was there in Feb. 2014 for depression. This place is HELL on earth. I am complaining not so much for myself, but for all the others that have to be there. My doctor said I had bi polar, which in today's world everyone has it. Wrong for me I have major depression and PTSD. They have an A ward and B ward, which it is open to see and hear everything that happens on one side as well as the other. B side is really horrific. They have all the "act out, schizophrenic patients, and off the wall people. I couldn't concentrate on my self help b/c I had to watch and see the the patients and got really afraid. One night one guy from the other side got through 2 gates and came toward my room at 2am. The tech says " I got this under control" . Well for me not good enough. When I got out I complained but of course the camera didn't see that, how convenient. The place was nasty. I washed clothes there and the washing machine stunk so did my clothes.The staff was very unprofessional, and laughed at others. I WOULD NEVER GO THERE AGAIN, IT HAS A STATE HOSPITAL ENVIRONEMENT, IN WHICH NO ONE CARES AND THEY ALL STICK TOGETHER SO WHY COMPLAIN WHEN YOUR THERE CAUSE THEY WILL KEEP YOU THERE??? I have hired an attorney to seek justice for all, including me. If you have ever been there, you will relate to all of what I am saying. To much to type on the 6 days I was there, but I am begging whoever reads this: DO NOT GO THERE OR LET ANYONE THAT YOU LOVE GO THERE. One more thing, my Dr. signed my discharge at 1pm, guess what time they let me leave?? I had my car there also. 6pm, b/c they still wanted to be in control. I had to finally get angry , and speak up, then the nurse said, "act out and we can keep you here, and maybe you needs some meds" What a joke, I just wanted to go!!! It took 5 minutes to go to the safe to get my purse and keys, but they wanted to see how I would act forcing me to stay. NEVER GO THERE!!!!!

II brought mmy 5 year old for help and they assured me they were reliable and trust worthy. I brought him on monday morning, admission was from 9am to about 1pm they took him back and told me I can call him once day his sister who is . Cant visit and I can only see him 45 minutes on tues and saturday. I came to visit the next day and his eyes were bulging out of his head and his heart was racing I asked what meds he was on, they put him on 4.....4 meds for a 5 year old? Wed I ccalled and he was out of it, he said his tummy hurt and they said he had a bug....thursday I called and asked when he is being released and to talk to him he did not want to talk he didn't feel well I asked is he OK he said No but Dr said he was fine. Friday afternoon I picked up a zombie skeleton child who had not eaten a full meal since tuesday they said oh he had crackers yesterday. Not to mention you don't talk to one person you have 6 different people with 10 different point of views. They put your kid on meds insurance doesnt cover like they have a relationship with drug companies...if you dont pick up yyour phone when they call. Forget calling back if its a minute or not.

MMy situation is worse. I got call saying that he was ready for discharge and left work early, got there and they made me wait 5 hours. If you love your kid and your sanity, find other options

As a recent patient in this facility, I would most definitely NOT recommend. I am 18 years old so I was able to see both the adolescent and adult units as they switched me back and forth, and can honestly say that neither unit offered any sincere help to their patients. I was sent involuntairly by the ER for simple anxiety issues that arose because I was facing a lot as a senior in high school. This facility turned my minor anxiety into something much greater by stripping me of my belongings, keeping me out of contact with all family and friends, consistently changing my release date and other information and being put with people that had very legitimate psychological disorders (schizophrenia, multiple personalities, etc) compared to my anxiety. The therapy sessions would end by 11:30 and left me with nothing to do all day but watch Teennick or play monopoly. Besides that, the sessions consisted of playing hot potato and dodge ball, which while fun, is not helpful to stress reduction. On the last night of my stay, a patient that was supposed to be under 24 hour observance due to the danger her presented to others broke into the room across from me in the middle of the night, causing the man in that room a lot of fear. ABSOLUTELY DO NOT COME HERE. The staff is friendly enough but overall no help was given to me at all, horrible for both teens and adults. ALSO DO NOT LET THEM FOOL YOU. YOU WILL NOT BE THERE 72 HOURS YOU WILL BE THERE LONGER. ALSO WEEKENDS DONT COUNT IN YOUR HOURS.

I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND THIS CENTER TO ANY FAMILY. I TRUELY BELIEVE THIS IS THE WRONG CONTER TO PLACE A CHILD IN TO RECEIVE HELP!!!!!! My 7 yr. was admitted into the program for a medication review. He suffers from Bi-polar, ADD, ADHD. was supposed to be was supposed to be a 72hr program that turned into a 6 day nightmare. we where unable to see our talk to him for 3days (72hrs) straight. We finally had the chance to talk to him the 4th day and they only gave us 2mins on the phone with him and hung up on us. we only got to talk to him 2times the whole entire time he was there. they striped him of all his personal belongings. they where made to sit in a room that as big as a bedroom for the entire day watching movies except for meals and therapy session which lasted about 20-30 mins. He was give 4 shots that put him to sleep instead of trying to talk to him and figuring out how to help him. Other than meal time the only excuse they have to drink is water from a water fountain. Refused to give him a night light know that he was afraid of the dark putting him into a dark room to sleep and closing and locking the door behind them. then when he got to come home he came home with a huge bruise covering the lefted side of his face claiming he had stretch himself; but he told us it was caused bye another child hitting him in the face with a very hard BasketBall in the gym. he also had 6 new Sores on himself to claim that he had caused them to himself. Then on discharge they put him on medication that the insurance company needed doctor permission to be on and I spent 5 hrs. playing run around on phone only to have the doctor tell me herself that she refused to spent 45mins on the phone with the insurance company to give the permission needed. that his being out of medication since discharged was our problem. that we needed to schedule an appointment with his doctor to get medication.

I had a close relative that voluntarily checked themselves into this facility hoping for help with an episode of depression. That was the beginning of a four day nightmare for my family. Instead of receiving therapy and coping skills, they found a punitive, prison like atmosphere. First, most of their personal belongings were stripped from them. It was as cold as a meat locker, but they were not given blankets when they were freezing. The bathrooms in the shared bedrooms had no doors, so there was no privacy. Meals last around 20 minutes, and that is the only time that they have access to food or drink. They are not allowed to take anything back to the unit, so all they can have the rest of the day is water from a fountain, but the employees eat and drink in front of the patients. They are lined up like cattle for meds. They are only involved in 4 or 5 twenty minute sessions; that's only 80 to 100 minutes a day. The rest of the time all of the patients sit in a room with uncomfortable chairs and one television. The few games cards are missing pieces. It is dimly lit, making reading a difficult to read. This facility offers no enjoyment or personal freedoms; leaving patients feeling dehumanized and more desperate. This is DEFINITELY NOT a proper placement for someone seeking help for their depression. It would be more appropriate as a court ordered placement; as punishment or aversion therapy. Their answer for stabilization is medicate. If a voluntary patient requests to sign themselves out, they suddenly become a danger to themselves and the psychiatrist makes them 10-13 then they will have to stay involuntarily. The staff does not help the patient or family members find other appropriate treatment placement. It seems their goal is to keep patients even if they cannot help them or are causing them more harm. It was a truly awful and disheartening experience for my loved one and our family. I will say that all such facilities are NOT the same. Other hospitals have staff that is compassionate and their patients are treated with dignity and respect. Beware of wolves in sheep's clothing!
